Invisicook: Technical Design & Installation Resource

The Heart of the Home, Reimagined

At Surface Creations we believe a kitchen should be as versatile as the family that gathers within it. Invisacook technology allows for the installation of high-performance induction heating directly beneath your countertop, effectively removing the visual and physical boundaries of a traditional stove. This innovation provides the freedom to prepare meals, do homework, and entertain on a single, uninterrupted surface.

  • Material Compatibility: Invisacook untis are approved for Dekton and Porcelain surfaces between 1.2 and 2cm thickness.
  • Structural Setbacks: To ensure the longevity of the stone, burners must be positioned at least 10 inches from any countertop edge or joint.
  • Invisamat Protection: The use of a silicone Invisamat is mandatory during all cooking to protect the surface of the stone and prevent heat transfer from the pans.
  • Cookware Requirements: Proper operation requires the use of Full-Clad, Tri-Ply, or 5-Ply induction-quality cookware.

Technical Planning & Model Specifications

To ensure the stone performs perfectly over time, the manufacturer has specific requirements for unit compatibility with Dekton and Porcelain surfaces.

All units operate on a 220-240V AC (50-60Hz) circuit.

  • Connection: North American 1, 2, 3, and 4-burner units are equipped with a 30 Amp, 250V Twistlock plug.
  • Hardwiring: Units may be hardwired following specific manufacturer diagrams if mandated by local codes.
Unit Type
Total Shared Wattage
Amperage
1-Burner
2,000W
~8.3 A
2-Burner
3,600W
~15.0 A
3-Burner
5,200W
~21.7 A
4-Burner Linear
5,200W
23.6 A
  • Approved Surfaces: Validated for use with Dekton and Porcelain only.
  • Validated Thicknesses: Only 12mm (1/2in) and 20mm (3/4in) profiles are permitted.
  • Approved Models: For Dekton applications, use is strictly limited to 1, 2, 3, and 4-Burner Linear/Straight Row models.
  • Prohibited Models: The 5-burner and 4-burner square units are not permitted for use with Dekton due to heat distribution requirements.
  • Burner Setbacks: Burner centers must maintain a minimum 10-inch (250mm) distance from any countertop edge, open end, or joint.
  • Fiberglass Mesh: Reinforcement mesh is not permitted on the underside of the material in the induction zone.
  • Internal Geometry: All corners must be fabricated as rounded edges per material manufacturer specifications.

Placement Restrictions: Recesses are not permitted in the countertop surface; control panels must be positioned frontally or horizontally.

Mounting Options: Successful installations include routing panels into a top drawer, mounting on a cabinet face, or utilizing tip-out trays.

Wireless Control: Units are Wi-Fi enabled, allowing homeowners to operate the system via mobile application.

Integrated Project Coordination

Success with an invisible cooktop requires thoughtful coordination between the design and installation teams.

Mandatory Air Gap: A 2cm (3/4″) air gap must be maintained between the bottom of the unit and any obstruction below to allow for proper fan ventilation.

Oven-Below Setups: For designs including an oven below the unit, the oven generally requires a lowered support platform to accommodate the ventilation gap.

Minimum Cabinet Base:

  • 1-Burner: 14″ to 24″.
  • 2-Burner: 16″ to 38″.
  • 3-Burner: 38″ to 42″.
  • 4-Burner Linear: 36″ to 40″.

Operational Safety & Expectations

The Invisamat: Use of a silicone Invisamat is mandatory during all cooking to prevent thermal shock and scratching.

Boiling Performance: Because energy travels through the stone, boiling large volumes of water may take longer than a standard glass-top; utilizing an electric kettle to “jump-start” water is recommended.

Cookware Compatibility: Only Full-Clad, Tri-Ply, or 5-Ply induction-quality cookware is compatible.

Sensor Protection: The white Thermo Gel on the burner sensors must remain intact during installation.

Surface Creations performs precision stone fabrication and secures the induction unit using a manufacturer-approved combination of A-B Epoxy, Sink Clips, and Z-Brackets. Mechanical fasteners, such as screws drilled directly into the material, are strictly prohibited.
